  • Episode 2: Roberto LoRusso

    January 22, 2022

On September 20, 1991, Rob interviewed Kurt Cobain before their show at Toronto’s Opera House. This was literally just days before Nirvana’s album “Nevermind” was released. The “embarrassing” “trainwreck of an interview” (his words, not mine) was captured on cassette and then hidden away for almost 30 years.

In 2018, Rob found that tape and decided to post the interview on his bandcamp page. Not long after, the dude went viral!

  • Episode 3: Matt Martin

    February 16, 2022

Matt Martin is pretty much the same guy he was in high school. He still wears Doc Martens, impersonates Elvis, and loves the Toronto Maple Leafs. But those early 90's years weren't as carefree as they were for most people; Matt was suffering from undiagnosed bipolar disorder and was self-medicating with alcohol; a practice that went on for years. Then one day, Matt found himself in a very dark place (mentally) and decided to go to the hospital. While he was there, he had what he can only call a "spiritual experience"...and that was the start of Matt's journey into the priesthood.

  • Episode 4: Dr. Marta Dyczok

    April 14, 2022

Dr. Marta Dyczok is an Associate Professor with the Departments of History and Political Science at Western University in London, Ontario.

On this episode we discuss, in simple terms, the war in Ukraine, why Putin attacked in the first place, how do sanctions work, and why don't other countries just bomb Russia to get the war over with?

This is a great article written by Dr. Dyczok focusing on five areas where Canada needs to step up on the war in Ukraine:

  • Episode 5: Lexxi Luxx

    May 3, 2022

Lexxi is just your average business woman. She owns a contracting company with her husband and helps with pretty much everything, including sales, quotes, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and anything else that needs to be done. She also owns a party planning company, has two Etsy shops with a third opening soon, she volunteers at a cat shelter, has plans to open a coffee shop, AND is a mom to a three year old.

Oh…and she also sells her panties, socks, and hosiery on the internet…that she has worn…to a loyal base of customers within the subculture of Underwear Fetishism.

  • Episode 6: Artimus Wolz

  • Episode 7: Annabelle Woghiren

    June 8, 2022

Annabelle Woghiren is an anti-racism, human rights, and decolonization educator and activist. On top of that she is a Law and Politics student at Queen Mary University in London, England.

This is taken directly from her website because I couldn't phrase it any better: Through unpacking myths and stereotypes regarding the politics behind the distributions of power, and investigating the role of racism and anti-racism in social, professional, and educational spaces, she encourages people to analyse their identities and positions within systems of power.

  • Episode 8:Lee Howard

    June 10, 2022

Lee Howard is a self-taught, freelance artist, creator of Quiet Room Bears (est. 2001), and bonafide horror aficionado. After almost two decades of hard work, he was able to fulfill his dream to become a full-time artist. However, it wasn’t an easy journey. Lee battled depression, heartbreak, alcoholism, suicide ideation, anxiety, the loss of both parents, and a severe lack of confidence. How did he move past all that to become the success he is? We chat about that and more!

    June 25, 2022

Thomas Lawrence is a modern-day David taking on Goliath; a marketing school drop-out running two companies from Scotland.

The first is Tom’s Totes; an ethical, slow-fashion accessories brand with an emphasis on social causes, sustainable practices, and appreciation for artists.

His latest is Good People Inc.; a marketplace platform for responsibly produced goods that acts as an alternative to online retailers such as Amazon (whom he “fucking hates”) where you can buy anything and everything you need as long as it’s ethically-produced.

  • Episode 10: Leah Barron

    July 12, 2022

Leah Barron is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer in New York City. When she was just a kid, she struggled with her weight and body image, which led to the development of disordered eating habits. At the tender age of 13, Leah decided to take control and began learning about nutrition and exercise and realize THIS was her calling! Her goal is to challenge the messages we get from social media and change the fitness and health industries from the inside by taking a different approach; she doesn’t focus so much on WEIGHT but instead looks at her clients as whole people with complex needs and goals. She wants people to be happy, have a positive body image, and love themselves unconditionally regardless of their shape.

  • Episode 11: Magister Bill from the Church of Satan

    July 18, 2022

Bill is a Magister with the church of Satan. Essentially, that means he is master or teacher within the church. And that’s definitely a suitable title for him because, wow…he knows a lot.

I contacted the Church of Satan because I wanted to talk about why interest in them seems to increase whenever the rights of people in the United States are challenged. I was given the rundown on what the church is about, their beliefs (which, you may be surprised to learn does NOT include animals sacrifices and eating babies) but, we also talk about Bill himself - his life, his day job in the corporate world, and his journey from Catholic to Satanist.

  • Episode 12: Mo Collins

    July 23, 2022

In the late 90s and early 2000s, you no doubt saw Mo Collins generously peppered throughout TV shows and Movies including MadTV, The 40 year old virgin, Arrested Development, Knocked Up, and more recently on Parks and Recreation and Fear the Walking Dead.

She’s an Actor, comedian, writer, director, animal advocate, and, it turns out, she is incredibly passionate about politics in the United States.

When I was making plans to speak with Mo, like all of my interviews, I didn’t prepare much because I prefer it when conversations take a natural course. But one single question at the beginning conveyed just how infuriating and scary it is to be a Democrat in America today.

  • Episode 13: Ashley Gray

    July 31, 2022

With one seemingly innocent Tiktok video, Ashley Gray found herself in the middle of an opinion storm surrounding the issue of how the rest of the world views the United States. You see, Ashley is an American living in the UK and that distance has afforded her an arm’s length view of the country she loves.

During our chat we talked about Canada vs. the US vs. the UK when it comes to health care, abortion, politics, cultural views, guns and gun laws, and the American crisis of being made to choose money over love.

  • Episode 14: Adam Avitable

    August 6, 2022

Adam Avitable considers himself to be a “creative polymath”. He is a comedian, writer, photographer, wedding officiant, and a former lawyer/entrepreneur/college professor.

Currently, he produces and co-hosts a dating podcast called “Dating Kinda Sucks” and has garnered quite a following on social media, in particular Tiktok, as a content creator who calls out toxic masculinity and the shitty behaviour of other men. I wanted to talk with Adam to find out if he’s legit or just another man trying to cash in on the #metoo movement.

  • Episode 15: Dr. Nel Wieman

Dr. Nel Wieman didn’t purposely set out to be Canada’s first female indigenous psychiatrist but in the 90s she did just that despite her early life being so difficult.

Dr. Wieman has been described as a victim of the 60s scoop but she sees herself as, not only a survivor but a THRIVER. She is also a recipient of the Indspire Award (the highest honour the Indigenous community gives its people).

She openly discusses so many topics including her early life, the responsibility she felt as being only the second indigenous psychiatrist in Canada, establishing trust with clients, the systemic racism she’s faced in the medical community, and her opinion about the Pope’s recent visit to Canada.

  • Episode 16: Lynn, The White Curl

    August 2, 2022

In 2019, Lynn attended the annual Homeless World Cup football tournament in Cardiff, Wales and the trajectory of her life changed. At this event, she witnessed people from all over the world come together for a cause but one person in particular left a lasting impression on her; the chameleonesque Welsh actor, Michael Sheen. If you don’t know the name, chances are you have seen him from one or more of his film and television roles.

However, this isn’t what drew Lynn to him. She saw Michael in attendance at the event, right in the thick of it, day after day, participating, talking with everyone, helping with what needed to be done. As she puts it, he wasn’t just being a celebrity who swooped in for a few minutes and then leave. He was as dedicated to this event as everyone else.

When Lynn returned home to the US, she had a mission; to raise money and help the charities she encountered while in Wales. And with that, The White Curl was born.

We talk about his upbringing in a Mormon home, his path altering experiences with music including his audition for The Voice, coming out as bisexual to his family, learning to accept himself, and how he is moving forward with tons of self-love, joy, and gratitude in his heart.

But before we get into the interview, if you are questioning your sexuality, gender identity, mental health, or all of the above, there are so many organizations out there that can help. And let’s say you want to better understand your friend, family member, or co-worker, they can help with that, too.

  • Episode 18: Catherine & Karen from My Divorce Solution

    September 2, 2022

Some months ago I made a very short, tongue-in-cheek tiktok that was a shout-out to all the people out there looking for the love of their life but don’t date because they still live with their exes due to financial reasons. It was just a little video poking fun at myself. The reaction that little video got was NOT something I expected. And the thing was, people weren’t responding to the dating part of it…the majority of comments were from people who were just like me; separated but still cohabitating with their ex because they can’t afford to live on their own.

That prompted me to have a chat with Catherine and Karen. Catherine is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CFDA) and trained mediator while Karen acts as a legal liaison. Both women are divorced and know how awful the whole experience can be from an emotional AND financial standpoint.

I suck with money and I’m awful with numbers. I’m not afraid of much but shit…when it comes to my finances, my brain just shuts down. BUT, after recording this episode, I’m not as terrified.
